Role description

The role involves the management of the suppliers which perform part of our cargo operations at Madrid airport. Additionally, the management of the equipment needed for the cargo operations. With the purpose to ensure a resilience service to IAG Cargo’s customers.

Key accountabilities


·To manage a portfolio of suppliers which perform part of the Madrid Cargo Hub Operation.

·Work closely with the Head of Cargo Operations to control the performance and SLAs of of the different Madrid Hub Operation suppliers on a daily basis, to achieve efficient and resilient services to our customers.

·Provide daily support to the Madrid Cargo Operation, aligned with local standards, procedures and Spanish regulations.

·To manage the handling equipment fleet of the Madrid Hub cargo operation (ULDs, dollies, forklifts, purchase, maintenance, stock and utilization levels.

·Manage ULD’s in close collaboration with the IAG Cargo Global ULD Manager (including suppliers, provision to customers, stock allocation, demurrage and attrition control), using systems and data analytics.

·Work closely with Procurement to renew/negotiate the contracts with current and/or future suppliers.

Propose and implement process improvements in the Madrid Cargo Hub Operation

  • Able to develop relationships across different teams, as well as work individually.
  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the IAG group, both orally and in writing in Spanish and English
  • Self-motivated, takes ownership and responsibility for making things happen.
  • Able to proactively and constructively challenge at all levels.
  • Ability to analyse and present findings concisely with insightful commentary, delivering complex messages and analysis in a simple & clear format
  • Proficient user of MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Very organised


Qualifications

  • Degree-level, ideally engineering, management or economics.

Fluent Spanish and English


Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing suppliers, supply chain processes or operations, warehouse or similar. Project management could be an option. Experience in the cargo airline industry desirable
